The Bright Futures Curriculum at Southill Primary is designed to provide a broad and balanced education that inspires all pupils and meets their individual needs. It offers exceptional opportunities for children to grow as joyful, independent and confident learners with high aspirations, who know how to make a positive difference within their community and the wider world.

We ensure that academic achievement, creativity and problem solving, alongside physical development, wellbeing and mental health, are central to the development of the whole child. Our aim is to foster positive attitudes, nurture curiosity and encourage children to learn from challenges.

As an inclusive community, we celebrate diversity and support children’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural growth, preparing them for bright futures in an ever-changing world.

Our curriculum follows the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum. Reading, writing and maths are taught in every class each morning, while subjects such as Science, Art and Design, Geography, History and Design and Technology are explored in the afternoons through subject-specific, knowledge-rich sessions designed to build knowledge and skills over time. PE, Music, French, PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) and RE are also taught each week.
